Three Reasons to take a break when discussions with your children get heavy

There will be times that discussions get tense, especially as your children approach the teen years. Here are three good reasons that you should take a break in those discussions:

  1. You are getting anxious, and anxiety is harming your ability to choose the right words and actions.
  2. Your child is getting anxious, and anxiety is harming their ability to choose the right words and actions.
  3. Your anxiety is making your child grow more anxious, and your child’s anxiety is making your anxiety grow.

Take a break and choose the right words as you quiet your heart.
